Q. Do I need a GPS Tracker in my Taxi or Private Hire vehicle?
A. Yes. A vehicle can be stolen at any time. Having a GPS Tracking device installed can reduce your insurance premium as it enables you to find your Private Hire vehicle or Taxi in the event of theft. Our installations are done by approved SAFE Systems installers and we install nationwide, cover most areas. Our Head Office is north of the M62, but we have SAFE Systems CCTV installers around the country as far south as Guildford and Brighton.
Q. Can I get insurance discounts by having a Tracker installed?
A. Yes. Most insurance providers will ask if you have installed a GPS Tracker in your Taxi or licensed vehicle. If you have a Tracker Installed in into your Taxi or Private Hire vehicle then this can lead to discounted premiums for Taxi Insurance which can be quite substantial for Hire & Reward insurance.
Q. Will live GPS Tracking track my Taxi or Private Hire Vehicle straight away?
A. Yes. The App will allow you to track your taxi or private hire vehicle immediately! The units we install is ready to go. Just switch on or power up, log on, and start tracking!
Q. Do I need to buy any special software?
A. No. The software is completely web-based. You can log on to the control panel from any internet browser using a pc, laptop or tablet. If you are accessing the control panel from a mobile phone, you will need to download the free iPhone or Android apps.
Q. Do I have to call the Trackit247 customer service to register the GPS Tracker?
A. No. The GPS Tracker does not require registration, it will start tracking immediately.
Q. Will my Taxi Tracker work abroad? If so, will it cost me extra?
A. The Taxi and Private Hire tracker will work in most countries across Europe. Please contact us at support@trackit247.com to obtain a list of countries where your device will work.
You can use the GPS Tracker in any country. There is a roaming agreement on all sim cards, at no extra cost. *Fair usage policy applies
Q. Can I set Safety/Geofence Zones and receive alerts to my mobile phone? Do I have to pay for these alerts?
A. You can set Safety/Geofence zones from our control panel, and you will receive emails, SMS or push messages when you leave and/or enter the safety zones. (you will need to set up the alert contacts in the settings tab in the control panel for this to work). You can add, edit & delete Safety Zones and set as many as you require. This can be particularly useful if you wish to track when your Taxi or Private Hire vehicles going in to certain zones.
You will receive 30 SMS credits per tracker as standard, included in your monthly subscription. Every command you send to the tracker or SMS message you receive will use one of your monthly SMS credits, but email and push alerts are unlimited. If you run out, we can top them up free of charge on occasion. However, if this is likely to become a frequent occurrence, speak to us about payment options for an increase in your SMS credit allowance.
Q. Can I use the Trackit247 GPS Tracker to track my vehicle on more than one computer?
A. Yes. You can use multiple computers or devices to track the your Private Hire vehicle or Taxi. There are no restrictions.
Q. Does the GPS Tracking device have a warranty, and what is the procedure if I have a problem?
A. Trackit247 devices carry a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. If you have a problem, then you must contact customer services at support@trackit247.com or call us. If Trackit247 cannot fix the fault remotely, they will repair or replace the GPS Tracking unit.
Q. Can I view more than Taxi or PHV on Tracking Control Panel?
A. Yes. You can view as many trackers as you like on the control panel (as long as you own them, of course!). There is also an advanced view, which allows you to see a quick summary of all of the trackers in your account, in one place. This can help track multiple Taxis and multiple Private Hire vehicles.
Q. Can I use either iPhone or Android to Track my Taxi?
A. Yes. You can use any smartphone that is internet enabled to track your Private Hire vehicle or Taxi with an iPhone or Android device.
